What We Offer

Mineshop is a perfect holiday getaway for everyone, children relish  the freedom that our woodland, fields and stream have to offer, making it the perfect family break.  Whilst couples enjoy the amazing scenery, walks and tranquility, making it the ideal romantic escape.  

Situated in a spectacular part of North Cornwall, Mineshop is the perfect base for exploring all that Cornwall and Devon have to offer.

Enjoy a perfect winters afternoon, sitting on the balcony, sipping hot chocolate.  Then perhaps light a small fire on the beach, snuggle up in blankets, and enjoy a glass of wine and mashmallows whilst watching the sunset into the sea at Crackington Haven.

The best way to begin your holiday in Mineshop is with a homemade Cornish Cream Tea (with homemade scones, homemade Mineshop Kea Plum Jam and Cornish Clotted Cream), which will be awaiting you on arrival, so just arrive, relax and enjoy!



ANIMALS

Dogs are more than welcome in all of our properties, and have unlimited use of our fields and woodland.Other pets are welcome by prior arrangement.
Mutley is our dog, he is fantastic with children, and loves attention! He now has his own facebook page!

We welcome our guests to join us with feeding the Chickens daily and collecting their eggs for your breakfast. 

Mineshop with it's valley location has a great deal of wildlife such as: Badgers which can often be seen from our cottages, and on request we are always happy to take you on a walk to show you where their sets are, if you're keen and very patient you can see them coming out of their sets for their evening feed.

Deer, Fox, Otters, and Rabbits have also been seen in Mineshop

There are many different species of Birds residing in our valley, including the Peregrine Falcon, Buzzards and many different species of Owls etc. 

Beaches

Crackington Haven is located in a Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it has an amazing beach designated to be a Site of Special Scientific Interest, which children can safely enjoy.  At low tide there are many rock pools which are home to crabs, fish and starfish.  The sand is perfect for seeing who can make the biggest sand castle, or the dig deepest hole!  The beach is life-guarded during the summer holidays.There are many more secluded beaches in the area and we are always more than happy to point them out to you. 

Surfing

North Cornwall is renowned for its amazing surf breaks which are perfect for every ability.  Boards and wetsuits can be hired on site.  We are always happy to store your surfboards, and equipment for you.

Fishing

We have about half a mile of stream, which is perfect for children to try their hand at fishing for trout, they are only small but it's really good fun. Rock-pooling for crabs and Gobi's at the Beach is an exciting experience for everyone. Fishing from the shore at Crackington Haven can be very produtive with Bass etc being regulary caught.

Bikes

Our location lends itself to mountain biking, we are happy to suggest routes, and can store bikes and equipment on request.
WalksThere are countless walks in the area which take in the amazing scenery that North Cornwall has to offer, we are always willing to point you in the right direction and suggest good walks for all abilities.
